From Garden to Jewellery Box: How Real Pressed Flowers Become Part of Manor Wild

At Manor Wild, every collection begins with a love of nature. While shells, stones and textures inspire many of the designs, some of the jewellery features real pressed flowers and leaves, carefully grown, foraged and preserved here in the heart of Warwickshire, UK.
Using real flowers creates jewellery that feels truly connected to the landscape around us. Every petal is unique, meaning no two botanical pieces are ever exactly the same.
Growing and Pressing Flowers in Warwickshire
While not every piece in the collection features flowers grown in our own garden, many do. To ensure favourite designs remain available throughout the year, some pressed flowers are carefully sourced from trusted growers to help manage stock levels. As Manor Wild continues to grow, one of my ambitions is to harvest and preserve even more of the flowers used in the collection, creating an even greater connection between the jewellery and the Warwickshire countryside that inspires it.
The delicate blue forget-me-nots featured in some earrings, necklaces and bracelets are lovingly grown in the garden surrounding our cottage in Warwickshire. Each flower is picked by hand before being carefully pressed and stored, ready to become part of a future jewellery design. This traditional process helps preserve their beautiful natural colour and intricate detail, allowing each piece to capture a little moment from the changing seasons.
Finding Inspiration Along the River Ford
Nature provides inspiration far beyond the garden. Just a short walk from the cottage is a peaceful river ford where tiny wildflowers, delicate leaves and grasses flourish along the banks. It's one of my favourite places to explore, taking time to notice the little details that are so easily overlooked. Those walks often spark ideas for future collections, where a tiny leaf, an unusual flower or the delicate shape of a flower becomes the inspiration for a new jewellery design.
Every season brings something different to discover. Spring offers fresh forget-me-nots and blossom, while summer fills the hedgerows with wildflowers and interesting foliage. Taking the time to observe these natural changes is one of the things I enjoy most about designing jewellery, and it's a reminder that nature never stands still.
